Australian Blackwood is a very close cousin to Koa and can vary from dark to light in color and straight grained to figured. In the tradition of guitars made from Koa tops, backs and sides in the USA for over 100 years, we have introduced a guitar with an Australian Blackwood top, back, sides and headstock but with a Queensland Maple neck, River She Oak fretbaord and bridge (unless specified). All guitars come with the Cole Clark patented 3 Way pickup system. Most models with River She Oak fretboards or Blackbean fretboards with Blackwood bridge are made of 100% sustainable timbers, excep for guitars with Rosewood fretboards. Includes hard case. With looping having become an important part of guitar playing, many muso's put a soundhole pickup in with a separate output to run to a distorted amp so they can loop the acoustic sound and solo over the top. These sound hole pickups are not made for a good distorted sound and are in the wrong place for a really good solo distorted sound. We put a Humbucking pickup in the correct place along with the Cole Clark 3 Way pickup system. We use separate outputs for each system.
